I have made my own feminist manifesto to show an insight of my life as a woman but also issues I want to express more.
The manifesto started to develop itself after dissertation work and research based upon labour being a real thing within art but also within life.
ArT:
Everything I produce and make is some form of art, The stages and process. Development and concepts. The relationship can change and things can be relinked.
Sculptures are reflection. Paintings are emotion. The layers in-between are the links.
My working through the day is work. Physical work. My art is work. My role as a twin, sister, daughter, granddaughter, friend, and girlfriend is work. I work everyday and still work on trying to find a job. A part time job as a cleaner, kitchen porter. Just in search of a job.
Art,- Make more. See changes. Final outcome always unknown. Meanings and thought process links to practical and how the art is made. Relationship between the artist and the work develops is personal to the maker. Reflect on the WHY. Not just why in general but why to you as the maker.
Make time. Set up in the house, shed, garden, studio. Your place. Close the door and just do something. Make work produce Art. Work with music or work in silence. Make a mess. You’ve made something.
